District officials have determined that the roads will be too hazardous to drive. Therefore in order to keep our families, staff, and bus drivers safe, all classes activities, and offices at Longview ISD will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Our administration will remain in contact with local officials to determine if the roads are safe for our staff and families to travel on Wednesday, Jan. 17. (District leadership will make a determination about Wednesday's schedule no later than 6 p.m. Tuesday night.)
Our students' and staff’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. We hope that everyone stays safe and warm during this snowy weather!

Longview ISD is closely monitoring the possibility of winter weather expected to arrive Sunday and possibly last into the first part of the school week. At this time, all classes, extracurricular practices, and events throughout the district remain tentatively scheduled as is.
However, if inclement conditions require closures beyond the Monday, Jan. 15 observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Longview ISD will inform parents, students, employees, and the community through our mass notification system, district website, social media channels, and local media partners.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff will always be the top priority when we are faced with decisions about school closings due to weather. We follow our standard response protocol for all inclement weather. You can read more about it on our LISD Communications page, under the tab "Inclement Weather."
Please keep in mind that Longview ISD will not send out or post notifications to confirm school is in session. Parents, employees, and students should assume a normal school day unless otherwise notified.
Our students and staff’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. We hope that everyone stays safe and warm as this winter weather passes through East Texas!
